How two firm sisters became fermentistas
We are Marta and Joanna: sisters, dietitians.... and avid fermentistas. Our passion for fermented vegetables stems from the belief that healthy eating, including the daily consumption of fermented products, is the basis for a long and happy life.
Marta & Joanna
Several years ago, after being diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia, we began a long search through various treatments. In the end, we found the key to health back in our childhood.
In our small apartment in Marianowo, Poland, we used to ferment large quantities of cabbage together with our family into fresh, crisp sauerkraut. We ate this natural probiotic all year round and it gave our health a powerful boost. Inspired by this healing family tradition, we started fermenting raw vegetables again.
Today we still prepare delicious fermented vegetables. In addition to fresh raw vegetables, fruits and herbs, our fermented products contain above all a lot of love. Everything is artisanally prepared (yes - we cut, knead, mix, prepare everything ourselves) according to the principles of traditional fermentation. We use no added sugars, preservatives, flavor enhancers or dyes. Our products are not pasteurized to keep the lactic acid bacteria alive, keeping them a natural source of probiotics.
And because we believe so strongly in the power of fermented foods, we share our knowledge not only through our products, but also by hosting workshops where we teach others the art of fermentation.

In the press

Twin sisters launch superfood in form of fermented vegetables. Fermented vegetables optimize the gut microbiome. "Fermenting is in our blood, or rather in our feet. We learned this artisanal way of preserving food in our native Marianowo village in Poland," the twin sisters tell us.

Leuven twin sisters launch superfood based on Polish roots. "We learned this artisanal way of preserving food in our native village of Marianowo in Poland," the twins said, "where every winter we were allowed to pound as many as 300 white cabbages with our little feet."

Fermented foods are making a quiet comeback. This time-honored preservation technique helps optimize the all-important gut microbiome, which has a major impact on numerous health conditions. Twin sisters and dieticians Marta and Joanna Klejman, as artisan fermentistas, want as many people as possible to get a taste of these effects.

We're participating because we believe fermented foods are one of the best ways to support your gut microbiome. It's packed with probiotics - the good bacteria that help your gut function optimally. With our participation , we want to show that fermenting is not only healthy, but also simple and fun.
